Next steps and FAQs

We are in the very early stages of the design process and the project team is currently engaging with officers at the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea (RBKC) and undertaking a range of studies to inform the proposals and to better understand the options to develop the site.

Due to the ongoing lockdown we have had to adopt a slightly different approach to consultation and engagement. We will be holding virtual meetings with local councillors over the coming weeks to introduce our plans and will present our initial proposals to the local community via our website in the summer, allowing all interested stakeholders to view and comment on the scheme. This feedback will help shape the proposals for 344-350 Old Brompton Road.

While we are still in the early stages, we are committed to engaging and consulting the local community from the outset. So we want to hear from you about what you would like to see within the proposals.

FAQs

Will you still consult on the masterplan for the site?

Yes, we are fully committed to consulting the local community on our plans for the Earls Court site. Our immediate priority now is bringing forward our plans for 344-350 Old Brompton Road, as well as reaching out and listening to our neighbours on their ambitions and hopes for the area before we develop a masterplan.

While the current Covid-19 situation makes consultation in a traditional sense more challenging, we have agreed an approach to consultation with the Council and are fully committed to ensuring that the community are fully and properly consulted. As well as using multi-media channels to keep everyone updated, we will ensure someone is always available on the phone to answer any questions you might have.

Where is the site?

The site is on the corner of Eardley Crescent and Old Brompton Road and includes the site of the former Tournament pub and the buildings opposite West Brompton Station.

Was this site always part of the Earls Court scheme?

No, under the previous masterplan 344-346 Old Brompton Road was not included, but 348-350 Old Brompton Road was consented in 2015 for an addition to the masterplan. The Earls Court Development Company purchased the site of the former Tournament Pub site in March 2020 to form a positive addition to the Earls Court project.

Why did ECPL buy the site?

The Earls Court Development Company has a vision for the future of Earls Court and felt that the 344-346 Old Brompton Road site made a positive addition to the Earls Court project. This site will form a gateway to the wider scheme that can be commenced ahead of the wider masterplan, creating important new homes, including affordable housing.

When will we be able to see plans for the site?

We hope to consult on our plans for 344-350 Old Brompton Road this summer. Whilst the current Covid-19 situation makes consultation more challenging, we are fully committed to ensuring that the community are fully and properly consulted.

As well as using multi-media channels to keep everyone updated, we will ensure someone is always available on the phone, and we will deliver printed plans for anyone who can’t get online and do face-to-face video calls with those who can.

Where/how can I see the plans?

Our plans will be published on The Earls Court Development Company website which you can visit at www.theearlscourtdevelopmentcompany.com . As well as using multi-media channels to keep everyone updated, we will ensure someone is always available on the phone, and we will deliver printed plans for anyone who can’t get online and do face-to-face video calls with those who can.
